Trade account termsRead the terms

1. About these terms

1.1 fibreonline.com.au is operated by RJJ Trading Pty Ltd (ABN 91 168 542 550), Sydney, NSW (“FibreOnline”, “we”, “us”).

1.2 These terms apply to every Trade and Corporate account, in addition to our general store terms, shipping policy, refund policy and privacy policy.

1.3 You accept these terms when you tick the box on the trade account application, sign in to a trade account, or place an order or quote request through one.

1.4 “Organisation” means the business, identified by its ABN, that a trade account belongs to. “Member” means a person we have approved to buy for an Organisation.

1.5 Order of precedence. If documents conflict, they apply in this order: (a) a signed Corporate agreement or rate card, for the Organisation that signed it; (b) these terms; (c) our general store terms and policies.

2. Eligibility and approval

2.1 Trade accounts are for Australian businesses with an active ABN, buying for business use. We check and approve every Organisation by hand, and we link each Member to their Organisation by hand after checking they work there (see 3.2).

2.2 Companies and partnerships: we check the ABN is active on the Australian Business Register and matches the business name, and that the applicant uses an email address on the business's own domain. Sole traders: we check their own ABN is active, the entity type is Individual/Sole Trader and the ABN name matches the applicant; a personal email address is accepted. Large organisations on a shared email domain: we approve each Member individually.

2.3 We may ask for your legal and trading name, business address, website, the type of work you do, a licence number (for example an ACMA cabling registration) and a trade reference.

2.4 We may approve, decline or ask for more information about any application, without giving reasons. We do not approve businesses that compete with FibreOnline in supplying fibre optic products.

2.5 You must give accurate details and keep them up to date, including your name, work email, phone number and ABN. Tell us within 14 days if your ABN, business name or ownership changes.

3. Organisation accounts and sign-in

3.1 Pricing and membership tier belong to the Organisation, not to individual Members. A sole trader is an Organisation of one, under their own ABN.

3.2 Each person who buys for an Organisation has their own login. After you first sign in, we link you to your Organisation once we have checked that you work there. We may ask the Organisation to confirm you first. We aim to do this within 1 business day.

3.3 Members sign in with a one-time code sent to their registered email address. There is no password. Anyone who can read that mailbox can sign in, so keep it secure and do not share codes.

3.4 The Organisation is responsible for its Members. It must tell us promptly at info@fibreonline.com.au when a Member leaves or should no longer have access. Until we remove a Member, the Organisation is responsible for orders and quote requests that Member places.

3.5 We remove a Member when the Organisation asks, or when we reasonably believe they no longer work there. A removed Member keeps a personal account but loses the Organisation's pricing. When a work mailbox is closed, sign-in codes stop arriving, though an open session may continue for a limited time.

3.6 A login may not be shared, or used to buy for any other business. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Membership tiers and pricing

4.1 Each Organisation has one membership tier, which sets its trade pricing: Trade Tier 1 (the starting tier for sole traders; other Organisations as set at approval), Trade Tier 2 (Organisations we place on this tier, for example on volume) or Corporate (by application, under a separate written agreement or rate card). Trade pricing is applied automatically at checkout when a Member is signed in.

4.2 We may, at our discretion, pre-approve existing FibreOnline customers for a trade account without an application. We will tell you if your Organisation has been pre-approved and at which tier. Everyone else applies and is approved under these terms. Previous trade status does not carry over automatically. Pre-approved Organisations accept these terms when a Member first signs in to the trade account or places an order or quote request through it.

4.3 Trade pricing applies to products sold on the website. It does not apply to delivery charges and does not combine with other promotions or discounts unless we say so. We may introduce bulk or volume pricing later; if we do, its terms will be stated at that time. We may set a minimum price on any item.

4.4 Anyone may use the Cable Designer to design cables and send a quote request. Once online pricing goes live, Cable Designer prices are shown only to signed-in Members of an approved Organisation; those prices already include the Organisation's tier, and no further trade discount applies on top.

4.5 We may change list prices, trade pricing and tiers at any time. Changes do not affect orders we have accepted or quotes still within their validity period.

5. Quotes, orders and payment

5.1 A quote request is not an order. We aim to reply within 1 business day. A price is not binding until we confirm it in writing.

5.2 Quotes, including those generated online, are valid for 14 days from their issue date unless they say otherwise. An online quote is indicative and subject to our confirmation; a formal estimate we send afterwards replaces it.

5.3 An order is accepted only when we confirm it in writing or by email. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a design cannot be built as specified, stock is unavailable or a price is wrong, and refund any amount paid.

5.4 Unless your Organisation has approved credit terms, orders are paid in full at checkout, before production or dispatch. We do not take part-payment deposits. Approved Corporate accounts may order on account with a purchase order number, on the terms in their agreement.

5.5 Prices are in Australian dollars. Tax invoices show GST separately.

6. Custom and made-to-order products

6.1 You are responsible for your design. Custom cables are built to the design you give us, including designs made with the Cable Designer. That includes its suitability for your installation: fibre type, core count, lengths, connectors, polish, polarity, labels and any site standards. Check the drawing and spec sheet before you order. We may contact you if a design looks wrong, but we are not required to.

6.2 Once production starts, an order for a custom cable cannot be cancelled or changed. Before production starts, you may cancel free of charge, except that we may charge for any materials or components bought specifically for your order that we cannot return or reuse. We will tell you the amount before charging it.

6.3 We do not accept returns of custom or made-to-order products for change of mind, or because the design you supplied was not right for your job. This does not limit your rights in section 9 if the product is faulty or not built to the agreed design.

6.4 Cable lengths and other dimensions are subject to the manufacturing tolerances stated on the spec sheet.

6.5 Every custom cable is tested before dispatch and ships with a serial-numbered test label showing insertion loss and return loss for each fibre.

7. Delivery

7.1 We deliver to Australian addresses as shown at checkout, under our shipping policy. For New Zealand or international orders, request a call back and we'll contact you to arrange a quote.

7.2 Stocked products ship as shown at checkout; some ship from our fulfilment partner's warehouse rather than our own premises. Delivery times for custom cables are estimates from order acceptance. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control.

7.3 Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes when we have been paid in full.

7.4 Check deliveries promptly and tell us within 14 days of any damage, shortage or incorrect item. Stocked items are otherwise covered by our refund policy.

8. Confidentiality and acceptable use

8.1 Trade pricing is confidential. Do not share your Organisation's prices, quotes, rate cards or screenshots of them with anyone outside it, except your own customer as part of a job you are supplying.

8.2 Quotes may not be resold or used to obtain pricing from another supplier.

8.3 Do not collect prices in bulk, for example by stepping systematically through Cable Designer options, or by scripts, bots or scrapers. We may log and limit price and quote lookups for each account to protect our pricing.

9. Warranty and the Australian Consumer Law

9.1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under that law.

9.2 In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we warrant that custom cables are built to the agreed design and tested before dispatch, and that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from delivery.

9.3 To make a claim, contact us with your order number, a description of the fault and, where possible, test results from site. We may ask you to return the item for inspection.

9.4 Our warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, exceeding bend radius or pulling-tension limits, contaminated connector end faces, misuse, or normal wear.

10. Liability

10.1 To the extent the law allows, where goods are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option, to replacing or repairing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, or paying the cost of doing so.

10.2 To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue, data or use, downtime, or the cost of labour to install or remove goods.

10.3 To the extent the law allows, and subject to 10.1 and 10.2, our total liability for any claim relating to goods or services we supply is limited to the price paid for the goods or services concerned.

10.4 Nothing in this section 10 excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

11. Privacy

11.1 We collect your name, work email, phone number, your Organisation and its ABN, plus your orders and quote requests.

11.2 We use them to verify your business, link you to your Organisation, set your pricing, process orders and quotes, and contact you about your account.

11.3 We may share your name and the fact that you are a Member with your Organisation, for example when it confirms who should have access.

11.4 Our privacy policy explains how we store and protect personal information and how to access or correct it.

12. Suspension, closure and changes

12.1 We may suspend trade pricing, close an account or remove a Member if these terms are breached, an account is misused, an ABN is cancelled, the Organisation no longer meets the eligibility rules, an invoice is overdue, or the account is inactive for 6 months. If we suspend an Organisation, trade pricing stops for all of its Members.

12.2 An Organisation may close its account at any time by emailing info@fibreonline.com.au. Amounts owing remain payable.

12.3 We will publish updated terms on our website and email account holders at least 14 days before a change takes effect. Using the account after that date means accepting the change.

12.4 These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
